Learn more about the Mellon Mays Fellowship Program at Queens, and hear from Dr. Alyssa Lopez, who was a first-generation student at QC and Mellon Mays Fellow, and is now a professor in American History at Providence College.
Dr. Lopez will be joining us for our MMUF Seminar on Wednesday during the free hour (12.15-1.30pm) at Rosenthal Library Room 300i. The discussion with Professor Lopez on her academic career, research, and the challenges faced by minority students will be led by our great fellows. There will be food available!
In addition, Professor Lopez will be delivering a lecture on her work on Black Female Filmmakers in NYC during the Civil Rights Era at Student Union Building Room 310 at 3.10pm. The event is co-sponsored by the History Department.
Note: Former Media Studies student and Mellon Mays Fellow Daniella Posy (’16) is currently finishing her Ph.D. in American Studies at Yale University!
